Thrifting

Introducing: FOUND

518

I’ve loved thrifting throughout my entire adulthood. I started going to Goodwill in college with my then-boyfriend-now-husband. We went every weekend and would find the best stuff. It wasn’t long before people started asking about my finds and asking me to take them thrifting. I’m thrilled that people are noticing how wonderful this little pastime can be. Jonathan and I literally go thrifting 2 – 3 times a week, if not more. We love doing quick flips on Facebook Marketplace or even eBay. And I recently decided to start my business, Found, with the intent of passing on my finds to people who will cherish them.

My vision behind this business is bringing back the magic to the word Found. Found objects are wonderful and tell more of a story than anything from a department store ever could. These objects have a history.

What does Found mean to me? It means discovering the history of an object and weaving it into your own story. Think of all the homes and hearts each piece has passed through. What did this once mean to someone, and now, it has a greater meaning to you. I treasure things that I find more than things I purchase new. I think the only things I own that are “new” are my underwear and the silverware set we got for our wedding. Ha!

Truly, everything in my home is Found and I am so very proud of that fact. I invite you to come along on this journey with me! We’ll go to thrift stores and I’ll share my Found Goods with you.
